Netley

Netley cenacle is available primarily for individually guided retreats of any length. We are particularly happy to welcome those who wish to make the full Spiritual Exercises over 30 days. People are also welcome for private retreats. Retreats are available most of the year and arranged according to mutual convenience.

The house is relatively small and has an informal, homely ambience. There are six en-suite rooms. A Prayer Room, a comfortable sitting room, a dining room and a small, quiet, secluded garden with a summerhouse and a pond.

Our aim is to help facilitate the spiritual journey of all who come to us, so retreatants are welcome regardless of denomination or religion.

In addition to the retreats all three sisters in the community, Winnie, Margaret and Jean offer ongoing spiritual direction. They are available to give retreats and workshops in other places. Sisters Anne and Jean also offer counselling.

The Cenacle is within easy waking distance of Southampton Water, Royal Victoria Park and the ruins of Netley Abbey.

Travel directions:

Train: Either to Portsmouth or Southampton Central and then change to the local train to Netley.

By car: Leave the M27 at junction 8 and follow the brown sign to Royal Victoria Park and Netley Abbey.
